The classic begins with modest Mole and rambunctious Rat basking in the sun with a hamper full of Mole’s famous earthworm sandwiches. All serenity is shattered when the pond-dwelling diva, Lady Toad of Toad Hall surfaces, and begins to rock the boat with her latest obsession - the open road!

In this new adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's classic work, I played Mr Mole in a run that took us to three venues and played for 6 shows.

Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a rich widow. The stakes are high with shocking witness testimony, impassioned outbursts from the dock and a young man’s fight to escape the hangman’s noose.

This production by Agatha Christie played at The Seagull Theatre for three nights, where I played the role of John Mayhew.

The retired sea captain yearning for his lost love. The landlady living in terror of her guests. A father who can no longer access his memories. A son in search of redemption.
As they awake to boiled eggs and the postman, the residents of a small Welsh village juggle old secrets and new realities in Dylan Thomas' poetic masterpiece.

I played multiple roles in this staged reading, which played two nights at The Beccles Public Hall.

Comedy is easy when you've got the right programming.
When Adam first meets Jacie, his world stops. Her looks, style, sense of humour and acting ability wow him. Then he realises her real name is JC-F-31333 and she is, in fact, a robot. Welcome to a world where actors are out and actoids are in!

Treading the Boards

With rehearsals for the drama society's annual showcase underway, two actors come to find their characters to be more like them than they originally thought. Treading the Boards is a new comedy set in the high-stakes world of amateur theatre, with tight-knit groups, in-jokes and inflated egos.

This was a short play that I wrote and was part of a collaboration show with Growing Theatre C.I.C and Burnt Coffee Theatre Company, playing several shows throughout July, August and September at the Southwold Arts Centre, The Maddermarket Theatre and The Seagull Theatre, where I played the role of Edward.

Macbeth

Something wicked this way comes as Shakespeare's greatest tragedy tours East Anglia this summer. Macbeth traces the violent rise and fall of a dictatorship, a tale of vaulting ambition, witchcraft and bloody murder.

This production played several nights at The Halls in Norwich and also at The Seagull Theatre in Lowestoft, where I played Thane Ross.

In Brendan's pub, isolated above the town, the men are gathering for their daily pint. The arrival of a stranger in their midst, Valerie, spurs them to impress her with ghost stories. But Valerie’s own story is more haunting and more devastating than any of the men could have foreseen.

Hidden away in the Record Department of the sprawling Ministry of Truth, Winston Smith rewrites the past to suit the needs of the Party.
Yet he inwardly rebels against the totalitarian world he lives in, which demands absolute obedience under the watchful eye of Big Brother.
This new adaptation of the George Orwell novel played several nights at The Seagull Theatre in Lowestoft, where I played the role of Winston Smith.

The Witchfingerer
March, 2022

The year is 1647ish. The civil war has torn across the land and, in its wake, fears and suspicions. From this collapsed society, old grudges fester and fuelled by religious fervour and bigotry, witches are being declared and sought out.
Seeing opportunity in the chaos, local loser Mathew Hopkins, self publishes a book and declares himself ‘The Witchfingerer General’. Accompanied by his assistant John Stern and a cart filled with promotional merchandise, Mathew is touring local villages giving book signings, pointing his finger, and shouting his catchphrase - ‘She be a Witch’.
